Bold move
B.C. voters got a surprise this week when the province announced they'll get a second chance to cast ballots on whether to switch to a single transferable vote system in three years' time.
 

O2 boost a perk, not necessity
The North Shore News carried an advertisement on July 10 entitled Are You Getting Enough Oxygen. While I won't comment on any one individual's need for more oxygen, I would like to point out to readers that, contrary to the advertisement's implications, the world's atmospheric oxygen percentage is not depleting in any significant way.
 

Court system seems slow and selective
I read with great interest Jane Seyd's story, Woman Pleads Guilty in Fatal Highway Crash (North Shore News, Friday, Sept. 9) and hope there will be some follow-up.
 

News' Katrina story concise and moving
Jane Seyd's interview with Rene Bernklau (NV Paramedic Part of Katrina Victim Search, North Shore News, Sept. 7) was the best story I have read on the Vancouver Search and Rescue Team's efforts in Louisiana.
